WHO ARE WE?

The 4 Nations Out of School Childcare Forum is comprised of representatives from the national intermediary organisations representing and supporting Out of School Childcare (OSC) in the UK’s 4 nations:

England: Out of School Alliance

Northern Ireland: Playboard Northern Ireland 

Playboard Northern Ireland is a registered charity (104724).

Scotland: Scottish Out of School Care Network (SOSCN)

SOSCN is a Scottish registered charity (SC020520).

 

Wales: Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs

Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs is a registered charity (1093260).

ABOUT THE FORUM

The forum was established in 2021 to strengthen policy, practice, research and support for OSC across the whole of the UK.

​

OSC is devolved to each of the 4 nations’ governments and although there are clear similarities in terms of practice; registration, inspection and qualification requirements differ, as do government policies and support.

​

The forum is the only hub for accurate and current information about OSC in each of the 4 home nations of the UK, as well as our joint work as a forum.  OSC is also sometimes referred to as "out of school care" or "school age childcare".
